The first European-based online Health Account™ service was launched today by DrGlobe.com, a Geneva-based Application Services Provider. The Health Account™ allows individuals to store all their health data in a secure, confidential account which they manage themselves. Each Health Account™ is protected under the direct control of the account holder and includes information about all aspects of their healthcare such as allergies, immunization, emergency contacts, health and medical records, insurance and any other relevant data. Personal health information management thus becomes quick, easy and cost-effective.

Each account holder can grant access to relevant persons such as the general practitioner, specialist physician or treating hospital/clinic. Each account may only be accessed by permission of the account holder, thus guaranteeing confidentiality and security of health information.

Account-holders can access their Health Account™ from anywhere in the world, either through the web or soon using wireless devices. The annual fee to hold a Health Account™ is fifteen Euros.
